Limits

  • A call is a ship stopping inside a port's geofence for at least 30 minutes. Calls still open at month end count in the month they began.
  • Only seagoing ships count: those with a checksum-valid IMO number. Inland barges, harbour craft and leisure boats, which mostly have none, are left out.
  • AIS sees only ships in range of a receiver. Busy ports far from receivers are undercounted, so the ranking shows where Voydar sees most traffic, not the world's largest ports.
  • Movers are listed only for ports with calls in both months and at least 50 calls in one of them. A port that appears or disappears is usually a coverage change.
  • Calls detected from AISHub positions are left out of these aggregate tables (they appear, credited, on vessel pages).
