The National Transportation Safety Board determines that the probable cause of the contact of the offshore supply vessel Dry Tortugas with the offshore gas and condensate production platform VK-817A was the on-watch captain falling asleep at the helm due to fatigue from work completed outside his scheduled 12-hour watch.
