貨物船SOUTHERN SPIRITは、船長ほか21人が乗り組み、愛知県美浜町河和漁港東北東方沖を南南東進中、貨物船第五大黒丸は、船長ほか3人が乗り組み、河和漁港東北東方沖で錨泊中、平成26年3月5日19時47分ごろSOUTHERN SPIRITの左舷と第五大黒丸の船首とが衝突した。 SOUTHERN SPIRITは、左舷中央部外板に凹損及び擦過傷を生じ、第五大黒丸は、船首ブルワークに設けられた指揮台を破損したが、両船共に死傷者はいなかった。
