On 13 November at an unspecified time, as many as 10 perpetrators armed with long knives, an axe, and steel rods boarded a tanker anchored at Kandla Anchorage, near position 22-47N 070-03E. The perpetrators gained access to the vessel by climbing the starboard manifold area. The duty crew spotted the boarding party and informed the master who raised the alarm. Seeing the crew’s alertness, the perpetrators fled the vessel.

INDIA: On 25 April at 0130 local time, robbers boarded an anchored tanker at Kandla Anchorage, near position 22-45N 070-00E. The duty crew subsequently noticed that ship’s cargo equipment was missing. A check of CCTV footage revealed that five robbers had boarded the vessel. The ship informed port control of the incident.

INDIA: On 19 January at 2030 local time, three robbers boarded the Norway-flagged chemical tanker MH LANGOEY anchored at Kandla Anchorage near position 22-48N 70-00E. Following the discovery of the robbers onboard, the master raised the alarm. Hearing the alarm, the robbers jumped into the water and escaped in a waiting small fishing boat. After the perpetrators were spotted, the master alerted Kandla Tower on VHF and the general alarm was raised. Upon hearing the alarm, the perpetrators escaped in a small boat with stolen ship’s stores. The crew searched the vessel with no further sighting of the perpetrators. The robbers gained access to the vessel on the forward port side and broke into the forecastle. Crew observed the perpetrators boarding and raised the alarm, at which point the perpetrators escaped. Nothing was reported stolen. The incident was reported to the port control.

The incident was reported to the Port Authority.
