The suspension was due to the loss of GPS signal in the southern part of the corridor (the exact coordinates were not specified). As of 10 March, the loss of GPS signal has been resolved and vessels have recommenced voyages within the Maritime Humanitarian Corridor.

The Russian Navy previously intercepted and detained the SAPFIR in the vicinity of Snake Island. According to press reports, the vessel’s crew members were released on 25 March.
