The vessel reportedly departed Jazan, Saudi Arabia en route to Djibouti with three Russian nationals and two Egyptians onboard. The owner stated that the yacht’s skipper managed to send a distress call that the yacht was under attack by armed pirates. EUNAVFOR, UKMTO, and U.S. Fifth Fleet have all told press that they are investigating the case.
