    IRAQ: Container ship robbed 8 Aug 10 at 0330 local time while anchored in position 29-41.7N 048-40.1E, Umm Qasr anchorage. Two robbers in a fishing boat wearing masks and armed with AK-47s boarded the vessel at anchor. They entered the bridge, took the chief officer hostage and entered the captain's cabin. They stole ship's cash and all the personal belongings of the ship's officers before locking them in a cabin and escaping (IMB).

Pilot notified the incident to the Iranian coast guard and port security officer. No casualties reported (IMB, Operator).
