The duty oiler spotted the robbers in the engine room and raised the alarm after evading capture by the robbers. Seeing the crew’s alertness, the robbers escaped with ship’s spare engine parts. The crew was reported safe and the incident was reported to local authorities.

The crew conducted a search which revealed that the robbers had stolen items from the engine room.
