The U.S.-flagged vessel, M/V Delaware Bay, was boarded and detained near the port of Bar, Montenegro (42-05N 019-05E) by a Yugoslav gunboat. The vessel, owned by First American Bulk Corporation (FABC) and on charter to Farrell Lines, was carrying USAID food aid cargo bound for Bar, as well as military cargo destined for Israel and Egypt, when approximately seven Yugoslav soldiers, armed with automatic weapons, boarded the vessel.
