Location generalised as a precaution
The position shown is generalised to within about 10 km. The exact position is not published.
The year of loss is not recorded, so its age and protection status cannot be verified.
How this was decided: Voydar's protection rules, from the sources we hold, confidence 50%. When in doubt, Voydar generalises the position.
MS Belpamela was a heavy-lift ship of the Norwegian shipping company Belships. The ship sank on 11 April 1947 off Newfoundland while on passage from New York to Cherbourg, after the cargo of 17 locomotives shifted during a storm.
