How this works

  1. Stations: NOAA National Data Buoy Center buoys and CO-OPS tide stations within 100 km of the port's position, nearest first.
  2. Readings: the buoys' own reports, refreshed twice an hour, in the units NOAA publishes (wind converted from m/s to knots).
  3. Tides: NOAA's high/low predictions for the nearest tide station, refreshed daily, 8 days ahead. Local effects and weather can move the real tide by a lot.
